Colum Joyce

Director, IMR World

Colum Joyce has been involved in the strategic business development of customer facing service and retail systems since the mid 1980s.

After working with the Nation Economic and Social Council (NESC) and the Institute for Industrial Research Standards (IIRS) in Ireland he joined DHL in 1984.

During his 20 years with DHL he managed the strategic and tactical development of the DHL suite of PC and Web service technologies for all segments of the customer base.

Colum finished his career with DHL as the Global E-Business strategist. In this role he focused on the long term trends, influences and business scenarios that would drive and influence the business models of DHL and his customer base. The key focus of his work looked at the transition strategies to move from a technology to a service based philosophy of business support internally and externally.

On leaving DHL in 2005 Colum established his own Brussels based research business called KBOR Research. This focuses on the evolution of Electronic Commerce, the social, technical, governance and business trends that are rapidly changing the form and format of Ecommerce and business responses to the market.

Colum is a well known worldwide contributor to conferences and publication. He has a well earned reputation for posing and addressing the difficult issues that are confronting the Ecommerce industry now and in the future.
